In conjunction with the great population increase in the planet and the rapid development in science and modern technologies, which was evident in the industrial revolution during the last century, which was unfortunately accompanied by many challenges and abuses against the climate, nature and humanity as well. Our country is one of the oil-exporting countries and is rich in water resources and natural areas, which puts it on the shoulders of our scientists and experts of the Faculty of Science to harness all possibilities to reduce the negative effects associated with the exploitation of natural resources or resulting from industrial activity. The office seeks through community and environmental work teams in the departments of the Faculty of Science to provide appropriate solutions to environmental problems and work effectively in all local and international forums and our interests were as follows:• Develop a clear vision and mission for the activities of the community and environmental work teams in the scientific departments within the framework of the vision and mission of the office and the college.• Cooperation with civil, regional and international institutions and associations regarding environmental protection and community service.• Preparing and participating in scientific conferences and workshops in all matters concerned with community and environmental affairs through appropriate representation of college experts.
• Consolidating the concept of "safe environment" among students of the College of Science and the importance of voluntary and environmental work that serves the community and the ocean.• Attention to highlighting the leading role played by the experts of the College of Science in community service and the environment• Supporting the activities of the College of Science Alumni Association and the Student Union at the college and directing them to play an active role in serving the college, society and the environment.• Cooperating with all research groups concerned with environmental studies that serve the community and its security and preserve natural and environmental diversity.• Preparing strategic plans to achieve the objectives of the College of Science in community service and the environment.• Contribute to the success of the strategic plan of the College of Science.
